Playing sports is a great way for kids to stay in shape and learn teamwork. But, no matter which sport kids play-- soccer, football, baseball, track, or martial arts -- It's always a good idea to be prepared. Start with a sports physical to make sure kids bodies are ready for the season's sports, to make sure they're in top shape and healthy enough to safely participate.
What Is a Sports Physical?
A sports physical is a check-up to evaluate health and fitness for participation in the chosen sport. It is not the same as a regular physical. During the sports physical, the doctor is looking for anything that could make it unsafe to play.

Sports and School physicals have two main parts:
Part 1:
Vitals, including:
Height, weight, blood pressure and pulse
Vision Heart, lungs, abdomen, ears, nose and throat
Posture, joints, strength and flexibility

Part 2
Family History including:
Serious illnesses among other family members
Past illnesses, injuries, hospitalizations and surgeries
Whether the participant has ever passed out, felt dizzy, had chest pain, or strained breathing during exercise
List of medications
